Overview

Diprospan is an injectable corticosteroid combination consisting of betamethasone dipropionate and betamethasone sodium phosphate. It is designed to provide both rapid and prolonged anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, and anti-allergic effects. The betamethasone sodium phosphate component is highly soluble and provides immediate activity, while the betamethasone dipropionate component is sparingly soluble and serves as a repository for sustained release over several weeks. In clinical research conducted by the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University, Diprospan is being investigated as an additive to local infiltration analgesia (LIA) to optimize postoperative pain management and enhance recovery in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA).
