Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CKD-352 (Diquabell Plus) is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic solution developed by Chong Kun Dang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of dry eye disease. It consists of diquafosol sodium (3%), a P2Y2 receptor agonist, and sodium hyaluronate (0.1%), a viscoelastic lubricant. Diquafosol stimulates the secretion of water and mucins from the conjunctival epithelium and goblet cells, thereby improving tear film stability. Sodium hyaluronate provides ocular surface lubrication and promotes corneal epithelial repair through its interaction with the CD44 receptor. The combination was approved by the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in May 2023, following a Phase 3 clinical trial (NCT04548427) that demonstrated its efficacy and safety compared to diquafosol monotherapy.
