Overview

Cantharidin Sodium Vitamin B6 Injection (DCVB6) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparation approved in China for the treatment of various malignancies, including lung cancer and primary liver cancer. The formulation combines disodium cantharidinate, a derivative of cantharidin extracted from Chinese blister beetles (*Mylabris phalerata* and *Mylabris cichorii*), with vitamin B6 (pyridoxine). Disodium cantharidinate acts as an antineoplastic agent by inhibiting protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), which induces tumor cell apoptosis, enhances immune function, and inhibits metastasis. Vitamin B6 is included in the preparation to mitigate the side effects associated with cantharidinate, particularly its potential for urinary tract irritation and other toxicities. It is primarily utilized as an adjunctive therapy alongside conventional chemotherapy regimens.
