Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Der-med (also known as Dermed) is a mild, lipid-replenishing skin wash lotion developed by Permamed. It is approved in Switzerland as a therapy-supporting treatment for various skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema, ichthyosis, acne, and fungal skin infections (such as hand and foot mycoses). The active ingredient in Der-med is disodium undecylenamido MEA-sulfosuccinate, a mild anionic surfactant with disinfectant and antimicrobial properties that slightly inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi. Formulated at a pH of 5.5, Der-med helps stabilize the skin's natural acid mantle, protects sensitive skin from dehydration, and supports the healing process of diseased skin. Additionally, Permamed markets a related product under the same brand family, Der-med dry skin lotion, which contains urea and polidocanol 600 for dry and itchy skin.
