Disopain (mofezolac, also known as N-22) is a small molecule nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that acts as a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1). It was developed through a collaboration between NAEJA Pharmaceutical (formerly SynPhar Laboratories) and Taiho Pharmaceutical. The drug is primarily indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders and arthritis. Following its development, Disopain was marketed by Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma and has achieved significant commercial success in global markets, with reported annual sales exceeding $100 million.
