Dituroxal

Dituroxal is a topical dermatological formulation developed and marketed by the Mexican pharmaceutical company Farmapiel. Its active ingredient is adapalene, a third-generation retinoid primarily indicated for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Adapalene acts as a potent modulator of cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammatory processes. It selectively binds to specific nuclear retinoic acid receptors (RAR), specifically the beta and gamma subtypes, to normalize the differentiation of follicular epithelial cells. This action leads to a reduction in microcomedone formation and the resolution of inflammatory acne lesions. Unlike earlier retinoids, adapalene possesses a stable chemical structure and a favorable safety profile, making it a standard therapy for mild-to-moderate acne.
