Overview
Diwu is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine derived from the dried rhizome of *Anemone flaccida* Fr. Schmidt. It is rich in triterpenoid saponins, which exhibit anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, and anti-tumor properties. Diwu has been traditionally used to treat joint pain, fractures, and rheumatoid arthritis. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that Diwu extract can suppress myeloma bone disease by targeting the CCL3/ERK/MAPK signaling pathway, inhibiting myeloma cell proliferation, and suppressing osteoclastogenesis. It is being developed for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and multiple myeloma-associated bone disease.
