Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Diwu Yanggan (also known as Diwu Yanggan Capsule) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound preparation developed by the Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily utilized as an adjunctive therapy for patients with HIV/AIDS, particularly those in an immunocompromised state who are receiving Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART). The formulation is designed based on TCM principles to nourish the liver and strengthen the body's vital energy (Fuzheng), aiming to enhance immune recovery and mitigate the hepatotoxic side effects often associated with long-term antiretroviral drug use. It has been evaluated in clinical intervention studies in China to establish effective integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment protocols for HIV-positive populations.
