Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Diyu Shengbai (地榆升白) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) product, most commonly available as Diyu Shengbai Tablets, derived from the root of *Sanguisorba officinalis* (Great Burnet). It is officially approved in China for the treatment of leukopenia, particularly when induced by radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or benzene poisoning. The therapeutic effect is attributed to its ability to promote the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow, thereby increasing peripheral white blood cell counts. Beyond its hematological applications, clinical research, such as that conducted by Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University, is exploring its role in mitigating ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) in renal transplant patients by regulating metabolic pathways and reducing oxidative stress.
