Overview

DK-IFN-α-10 is an engineered cytokine fusion protein developed by DEKA Biosciences using its proprietary Diakine platform. The molecule consists of Interferon-alpha (IFN-α) fused to a targeting moiety specific for the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR). By targeting EGFR, which is frequently overexpressed in various solid tumors, the drug aims to concentrate the immunomodulatory and anti-proliferative activities of IFN-α within the tumor microenvironment. This targeted approach is designed to enhance the therapeutic index of the cytokine by maximizing local immune activation while minimizing the systemic side effects typically associated with recombinant interferon therapy. It is currently in early-stage development for the treatment of various solid cancers.
