DK-IFNa-10 is an experimental EGFR-targeted immunocytokine being developed by DEKA Biosciences for the treatment of EGFR-expressing solid tumors. Utilizing the company's proprietary Diakine platform, the molecule is a recombinant fusion protein that combines interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) with a targeting moiety directed against the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). This dual-cytokine approach is designed to harness the potent anti-tumor and pro-inflammatory effects of IFN-alpha while utilizing the immunomodulatory properties of IL-10 to potentially improve the safety profile and therapeutic index by limiting systemic cytokine-related toxicities. By specifically binding to EGFR on tumor cells, DK-IFNa-10 aims to concentrate these immune-stimulating signals within the tumor microenvironment, promoting a localized and effective anti-cancer immune response.
