Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DL4 is a class 1 nanobody that was isolated from an alpaca immunized with the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2. It binds to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein with picomolar affinity and neutralizes the original SARS-CoV-2 strain. Research has focused on understanding its immune evasion mechanisms against various Omicron variants and on computationally optimizing its binding affinity to the viral RBD. This nanobody has the potential for therapeutic development against COVID-19.
