Overview

DLX105 is a fully human single-chain variable fragment (scFv) antibody that targets and inhibits tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα), a key pro-inflammatory cytokine. It was developed as a topical or locally administered biologic for the treatment of inflammatory diseases, particularly dermatological conditions such as plaque psoriasis. Unlike full-length IgG antibodies, DLX105 is designed to penetrate tissues like skin and cartilage more effectively due to its smaller size. Clinical studies have shown that local administration of DLX105 can reduce inflammation markers and modulate disease-relevant cytokines in psoriatic lesions without significant systemic exposure, suggesting an improved safety profile over systemically administered anti-TNF agents[2][3][6]. The drug has also been investigated for other inflammatory conditions including osteoarthritis, Crohn's disease-related perianal fistula, uveitis, xerophthalmia, pain syndromes, Behcet syndrome, hidradenitis suppurativa, and ocular inflammation[1][5][7].
