Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DM-101 is a recombinant protein drug developed as an immunotherapeutic vaccine for birch pollen allergy. The active ingredient, DM-101, is a genetically engineered variant of the major birch pollen allergen Bet v 1, designed to reduce allergenicity while retaining immunological properties. In its clinical formulation (DM-101PX), it is incorporated into a thermosensitive hydrogel for controlled release after subcutaneous injection. The mechanism of action involves inhibition of Immunoglobulin E (IgE), aiming to induce immune tolerance and provide protection against allergic reactions. Developed by Desentum, this therapy represents a novel approach in allergy immunotherapy and has completed Phase 1 clinical trials with plans to advance to Phase 2.
