DM1001 is a long-acting, once-weekly injectable formulation of pramipexole, a non-ergoline dopamine agonist. Developed by Nanjing Jicui Jiding Pharmaceutical (Jiding Pharma) in collaboration with Fosun Wanbang, it is intended for the treatment of signs and symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson's disease. The drug utilizes a proprietary delivery technology to provide sustained release of pramipexole, aiming to improve patient compliance and provide more stable plasma concentrations compared to standard daily oral formulations. It primarily acts as a potent agonist at the dopamine D2 and D3 receptor subtypes to alleviate motor symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease.
