Overview

DM300 is a patented recombinant human ulinastatin (rh-ulinastatin) being developed by DiaMedica Therapeutics. It is a broad-spectrum serine protease inhibitor designed to treat severe acute pancreatitis and other inflammatory diseases. Ulinastatin is a glycoprotein that naturally occurs in human urine and functions by inhibiting various enzymes, including trypsin, chymotrypsin, elastase, and cathepsin G. These proteases are key mediators of the systemic inflammatory response and tissue damage associated with acute pancreatitis. By inhibiting these enzymes, DM300 aims to mitigate inflammation and prevent the progression of tissue injury and organ failure. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
