Overview

DMB-3111 is a biosimilar of trastuzumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2/ERBB2). It is being jointly developed by Meiji Seika Pharma (Japan) and Dong-A Socio Holdings (Korea). Like the reference product trastuzumab, DMB-3111 binds to HER2 receptors on tumor cells and mediates its antitumor effects primarily through antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) and inhibition of HER2 signaling. The drug has demonstrated bioequivalence to trastuzumab in pharmacokinetics, safety, and immunogenicity studies in healthy volunteers. Its primary indications under development are HER2-positive breast cancer and gastric cancer[1][3][4].
