Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DMI-7958 is a long-acting injectable formulation of the atypical antipsychotic risperidone, developed by Delpor using its proprietary Prozor technology. The Prozor platform utilizes a non-mechanical, passive diffusion-based implant system designed to provide consistent, zero-order release of the medication over an extended period, typically up to six months. This approach aims to improve medication adherence in patients with schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, thereby reducing the risk of relapse and hospitalization associated with non-compliance. By maintaining stable therapeutic plasma levels without the peaks and troughs seen with oral or shorter-acting injectable formulations, DMI-7958 potentially offers a better safety profile and improved efficacy for long-term maintenance therapy.
