Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DMPY2 (also known as CNC-201) is a fluorine-18 labeled, melanin-targeted small molecule radiopharmaceutical developed by CNCure Biotech and Chonnam National University for the positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of malignant melanoma. Chemically, it is a pyridine-based benzamide derivative, N-(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl)-5-[18F]fluoropicolinamide, which exhibits high affinity and selectivity for melanin. By binding directly to melanin, DMPY2 enables non-invasive, high-resolution visualization of primary melanoma and metastatic lesions, particularly in organs with high physiological background uptake such as the brain and liver. DMPY2 is currently in Phase 1/2a clinical development in South Korea.
