Overview

DMS 612 is a dimethane sulfonate analog and a bifunctional alkylating agent with demonstrated anti-tumor activity, particularly showing preferential cytotoxicity against human renal cell carcinoma in preclinical models. It acts by inducing DNA damage through alkylation, leading to cell death. In clinical studies, DMS 612 was administered intravenously and exhibited dose-dependent pharmacodynamic effects, including DNA damage in peripheral blood lymphocytes and scalp hairs. The drug has been evaluated in phase I trials for advanced solid malignancies, where it showed partial responses in renal cell carcinoma and cervical cancer patients at the maximum tolerated dose[1][6].
