Overview

DMT410 is a combination treatment regimen developed by Dermata Therapeutics that utilizes the unique mechanical features of the company's Spongilla technology (marketed as XYNGARI, formerly known as DMT310) to enable needle-free intradermal delivery of botulinum toxin via topical application. The process involves an initial topical application of Spongilla powder to the skin; its microscopic spicules penetrate the stratum corneum and create microchannels into the dermis. This allows for subsequent topical administration and penetration of botulinum toxin (such as OnabotulinumtoxinA or other formulations) without injections. The approach aims to reduce systemic exposure and improve patient acceptance by avoiding needles. Clinical studies have shown promising efficacy in reducing symptoms of primary axillary hyperhidrosis and improving various aesthetic skin conditions such as brightness, luminosity, pore size reduction, sebum production decrease, and fine lines improvement. Safety data indicate that DMT410 is generally well tolerated with minimal adverse events[1][3][5][6][8].
