Overview

DNA + NYVAC + AIDSVAX is an investigational heterologous prime-boost HIV vaccine regimen. It consists of three distinct components: DNA-HIV-PT123 (a DNA plasmid vaccine), NYVAC-HIV-PT1 and NYVAC-HIV-PT4 (attenuated vaccinia virus NYVAC-vectored vaccines), and AIDSVAX B/E (a recombinant HIV-1 gp120 envelope glycoprotein subunit vaccine). The regimen is designed to elicit broad immune responses, including T-cell activation via the DNA and NYVAC primes and high-titer antibody responses targeting the HIV-1 Env V1/V2 regions via the AIDSVAX boost. Developed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), it was evaluated in the Phase 1 HVTN 101 trial for the prevention of HIV infection in healthy adults but the study was ultimately withdrawn.
