DNAmix

DNAmix is a veterinary DNA vaccine developed by Vaxxinova for the aquaculture industry, specifically for the protection of Atlantic salmon (*Salmo salar*) against Salmon Pancreas Disease (SPD) and Salmon Rickettsial Septicaemia (SRS). The vaccine utilizes a DNA plasmid platform to deliver genetic sequences encoding specific viral or bacterial antigens—such as the structural proteins of Salmonid Alphavirus (SAV) or antigens from *Piscirickettsia salmonis*. Upon intramuscular injection, the host's myocytes take up the plasmids and express the encoded proteins, which are then presented to the immune system to elicit both cell-mediated and humoral immunity. This technology offers a significant advantage over traditional oil-adjuvanted vaccines by reducing internal organ adhesions and melanosis while providing robust, long-term protection.
