DNK-FLU is Denka Seiken's egg-derived, inactivated split-virion trivalent influenza hemagglutinin vaccine developed for prevention of influenza. The formulation used in the DNK-PEDFLU-2 pediatric study contained hemagglutinin antigens from A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)pdm, A/Victoria/210/2009 (H3N2), and B/Brisbane/60/2008, each at not less than 30 micrograms/mL as hemagglutinin protein. It is administered by subcutaneous injection and induces strain-specific humoral immunity, including hemagglutination-inhibiting and virus-neutralizing antibodies. The development program supported the Japanese products Flu-Syringe Seiken and Influenza HA Vaccine Seiken.
