DNV001-101 is a monoclonal antibody targeting proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), currently under development by Hangzhou Dingle New Biotechnology for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). PCSK9 is a key regulator of cholesterol metabolism that binds to the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) on the surface of hepatocytes, leading to its degradation and a subsequent reduction in the liver's ability to clear LDL-C from the blood. By inhibiting PCSK9, DNV001-101 prevents LDLR degradation, thereby increasing the density of receptors available to remove circulating LDL-C. The drug is administered as a subcutaneous injection and is being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to determine its safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic profile in healthy volunteers and individuals with dyslipidemia.
