Overview

A combination regimen consisting of docetaxel, carboplatin, trastuzumab, and lapatinib used for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. The regimen includes docetaxel (75 mg/m² on day 1) and carboplatin (AUC of 6 on day 1) administered every 3 weeks for six cycles, plus trastuzumab (4 mg/kg loading dose followed by 2 mg/kg weekly for 17 weeks, then 6 mg/kg every 3 weeks for 12 additional cycles) and lapatinib (750-1000 mg daily) for a total of 12 months. This combination targets HER2-positive breast cancer through multiple mechanisms: Docetaxel is a taxane that disrupts microtubule function; Carboplatin is a platinum-based agent that forms DNA crosslinks; Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the HER2 receptor; Lapatinib is a dual tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting HER2/neu and EGFR.
