Overview

This is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of four distinct drugs: 1. **Docetaxel**: A taxane-based chemotherapeutic agent that inhibits cell division by disrupting microtubule function. 2. **Cisplatin**: A platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that crosslinks DNA, preventing cell division. 3. **Capecitabine**: An oral fluoropyrimidine prodrug that converts to 5-fluorouracil in tumor tissues, inhibiting DNA synthesis. 4. **Bevacizumab**: A monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), preventing angiogenesis. This combination regimen is used primarily for treating HER2-negative advanced gastric cancer, including locally advanced, recurrent, or metastatic disease. The regimen typically involves docetaxel and cisplatin administered intravenously on day 1, with capecitabine taken orally for 14 days in a 21-day cycle. Bevacizumab is added to enhance anti-angiogenic effects.
