docetaxel + dostarlimab

Docetaxel + dostarlimab is an investigational combination therapy comprising two distinct agents: docetaxel, a cytotoxic chemotherapy drug of the taxane class, and dostarlimab, a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) receptor. Docetaxel disrupts microtubule function in dividing cells, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Dostarlimab acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by blocking PD-1 on T cells, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. This combination is being studied primarily for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in patients who have progressed after prior anti-PD-(L)1 therapy and platinum-based chemotherapy[5][9]. The rationale for combining these agents is to leverage both direct cytotoxic effects on tumor cells (docetaxel) and immunomodulatory activity (dostarlimab), potentially resulting in synergistic anti-cancer efficacy.
