Overview
DOS2w is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of docetaxel, oxaliplatin, and S-1 (a multi-component oral fluoropyrimidine). The "2w" designation refers to a biweekly (every two weeks) administration schedule. This regimen is primarily investigated for the treatment of advanced or non-resectable gastric and esophageal adenocarcinomas. Docetaxel acts as a taxane that stabilizes microtubules, oxaliplatin is a platinum-based agent that forms DNA cross-links, and S-1 contains tegafur (a 5-FU prodrug), gimeracil (a DPD inhibitor), and oteracil (an OPRT inhibitor) to enhance the anti-tumor activity of 5-fluorouracil while reducing gastrointestinal side effects.
