Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Docetaxel + pegvorhyaluronidase alfa is a combination therapy that pairs a standard cytotoxic chemotherapy agent (docetaxel) with an enzyme that degrades hyaluronan (HA) in the tumor microenvironment. Pegvorhyaluronidase alfa (PVHA/PEGPH20) enzymatically degrades hyaluronan in the tumor microenvironment, which is thought to improve vascular perfusion and enhance intratumoral delivery of anticancer agents like docetaxel. This combination was investigated for the treatment of stage IIIB/IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
