Suramin may enhance docetaxel's efficacy through multiple mechanisms including inhibition of enzymes, antagonism of P2 receptors, and inhibition of various proteins like phospholipase A2 and thrombin. This combination has been primarily studied for hormone refractory prostate cancer and advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
