Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of docetaxel, trastuzumab, and MM-111. Docetaxel is a taxane-class small molecule chemotherapeutic that inhibits cell division by stabilizing microtubules. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), used primarily in HER2-positive breast cancer; it works by inhibiting HER2 signaling and mediating antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). MM-111 is a bispecific monoclonal antibody designed to target both HER2 and heregulin/HER3 signaling pathways, aiming to overcome resistance mechanisms in HER2-positive cancers. This combination has been investigated for synergistic anti-tumor activity in patients with advanced or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer.
