Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Docetaxel + vintafolide is a combination therapy consisting of docetaxel, a taxane chemotherapy agent, and vintafolide (EC145), a folate-targeted vinca alkaloid conjugate. Vintafolide is designed to deliver a cytotoxic agent (desacetylvinblastine hydrazide, DAVLBH) specifically to folate receptor (FR) positive cancer cells. The combination showed improved efficacy compared to either agent alone in FR-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly in patients with adenocarcinoma. The combination was evaluated in the Phase 2b TARGET trial.
