Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Docetaxel Lipid Suspension is a lipid-based formulation of the taxane antineoplastic agent docetaxel, developed by Cosmas Pharmaceuticals. It functions as a microtubule stabilizer by binding to the beta-subunit of tubulin, which inhibits the disassembly of microtubules and disrupts the mitotic spindle during cell division. This mechanism leads to cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and subsequent apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. The lipid suspension formulation is designed for intravenous administration and is approved for the treatment of various malignancies, including breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and prostate cancer.
