Overview

Docolic is a pediatric combination medication developed and marketed by Yash Pharma Laboratories for the symptomatic relief of infantile colic and gastrointestinal spasms. It contains two active pharmaceutical ingredients: dicyclomine hydrochloride and simethicone. Dicyclomine hydrochloride is an antispasmodic agent that functions as a muscarinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist, effectively relaxing smooth muscle in the gastrointestinal tract to alleviate cramping. Simethicone is an anti-flatulent surfactant that reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles in the stomach and intestines, facilitating their coalescence and expulsion. Formulated as oral drops, Docolic is specifically designed for rapid administration and relief of abdominal pain and bloating in infants and young children.
