Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dog hair allergen immunotherapy preparation is an allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) in development by ALK-Scherax (a subsidiary of ALK-Abelló) for the treatment of dog allergy and associated allergic rhinitis. The preparation consists of dog hair and dander allergen extracts (including major allergens such as Can f 1). Its mechanism of action involves the gradual administration of these allergen extracts to induce immunological tolerance, shifting the immune response away from an IgE-mediated allergic reaction and reducing symptoms upon natural exposure to dogs.
