Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dolsym-P is a fixed-dose combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory tablet marketed by SBM Pharmaceuticals (SBM Enterprises). It contains two active small molecule ingredients: aceclofenac (100 mg) and paracetamol (325 mg). Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) serves as an analgesic and antipyretic agent, likely acting through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. This combination is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of acute pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. The product is manufactured in a WHO GMP certified facility and is approved by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI).
