dolutegravir + maraviroc + lamivudine

This triple therapy regimen consists of high doses of dolutegravir, maraviroc, and lamivudine. It is being investigated by the Fundación para la Investigación Biomédica del Hospital Universitario Ramón y Cajal in the DOSAGE clinical trial. The regimen aims to eliminate the latent HIV-1 reservoir by achieving higher antiretroviral drug levels in lymphatic tissues. Dolutegravir acts as an integrase strand transfer inhibitor, maraviroc as a CCR5 antagonist, and lamivudine as a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. The study evaluates whether intensified dosing (dolutegravir 50 mg BID, maraviroc 300 mg BID, and lamivudine 300 mg BID) can impact persistent viral replication in intestinal lymphatic tissue and reduce the latent cellular reservoir in virally suppressed adults.
