Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Peredom is a fixed-dose combination drug containing the peripheral dopamine antagonist domperidone and the analgesic/antipyretic paracetamol (acetaminophen). Developed and marketed by Med Manor Organics, Peredom is primarily indicated for the treatment of migraine headaches, particularly when accompanied by symptoms of nausea and vomiting. Domperidone acts as a selective antagonist at peripheral dopamine D2 and D3 receptors, which enhances gastrointestinal motility and prevents emesis by blocking dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ). Paracetamol provides analgesic and antipyretic effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes. Together, the two components provide synergistic relief by addressing both the severe pain of migraine and the associated gastrointestinal distress.
