Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Donaperminogene seltoplasmid (NL003, VM202) is a non-viral plasmid DNA-based gene therapy designed to express two isoforms of human hepatocyte growth factor (HGF): HGF723 and HGF728. Developed by Helixmith (formerly ViroMed) and licensed to Northland Biotech in China, the therapy is administered via local intramuscular injection. Once inside skeletal muscle cells, the plasmid drives the continuous secretion of active HGF, which binds to the c-Met receptor to promote therapeutic angiogenesis, neuroprotection, and anti-inflammatory effects. In May 2026, donaperminogene seltoplasmid was approved by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) under the brand name Huasuoling (Sedomin) for the treatment of limb ulcers caused by severe lower-limb ischemia (critical limb ischemia) in patients ineligible for revascularization. It is also under clinical evaluation for diabetic peripheral neuropathy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and coronary artery disease.
