Donor-derived expanded NK cells are an allogeneic cell therapy consisting of natural killer (NK) cells isolated from donor peripheral blood and expanded ex vivo using a feeder-free system. Developed by Shanghai NK CellTech in collaboration with Peking University, these cells are designed to exert potent anti-leukemic activity through direct cytotoxicity against malignant cells. In clinical studies (NCT04221971), these cells have been evaluated in patients with relapsed or minimal residual disease (MRD) positive acute myeloid leukemia (AML) following lymphodepleting chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide and fludarabine. The cells demonstrate the ability to survive in vivo for up to 30 days and can penetrate the central nervous system to target extramedullary disease.
