Overview

This is a combination of three sympathomimetic medications that act on adrenergic receptors. Each component has distinct pharmacological properties: - **Dopamine**: Stimulates β1-adrenergic receptors to increase cardiac contractility and output. At higher doses, it also stimulates α-receptors causing vasoconstriction. - **Epinephrine**: A nonselective adrenergic agonist that stimulates both β1 and β2 receptors, causing bronchodilation and cardiac stimulation. Also acts on α-receptors to cause vasoconstriction. - **Norepinephrine**: Primarily stimulates β1-receptors in the heart and has strong α-receptor activity, causing vasoconstriction and increasing blood pressure. While these medications can sometimes be used together in critical care settings, they are typically administered separately based on specific clinical needs.
