Dopetir is a brand name for donepezil hydrochloride, a reversible, non-competitive inhibitor of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE), marketed in Greece by Innovis Pharma. Donepezil is a piperidine-based acetylcholinesterase inhibitor that increases the concentration of acetylcholine in the brain by inhibiting its hydrolysis. This enhancement of cholinergic function is used to treat the cognitive symptoms of mild to moderately severe Alzheimer's disease. It is administered orally and is available in various strengths, typically 5 mg and 10 mg film-coated tablets.
