Dopobid

Dopobid is a brand name used by Austrak Pharmaceuticals for two distinct pharmaceutical products: an ophthalmic solution and an oral tablet. In the context of ophthalmology, Dopobid refers to a combination eye drop containing **dorzolamide hydrochloride** (a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor) and **timolol maleate** (a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker). This formulation is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently responsive to beta-blockers alone. Additionally, Austrak markets a tablet under the same brand name containing **levodopa** and **carbidopa**, which is used in the management of Parkinson's disease. The ophthalmic version works by decreasing the production and secretion of aqueous humor, while the neurological version works by replenishing dopamine levels in the brain.
