Dorotril-H

Dorotril-H is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive medication developed and manufactured by Domesco Medical Import Export Joint Stock Corporation. It contains lisinopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, and hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic. Lisinopril functions by blocking the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor, thereby reducing peripheral vascular resistance and aldosterone secretion. Hydrochlorothiazide acts on the distal convoluted tubule of the kidney to inhibit sodium and chloride reabsorption, leading to increased diuresis and a reduction in plasma volume. The combination of these two agents provides a synergistic effect in lowering blood pressure and is typically indicated for patients whose hypertension is not adequately controlled by lisinopril or hydrochlorothiazide monotherapy.
