Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Doruxapapogene ralaplasmid (INO-3107) is an investigational DNA-plasmid gene therapy and immunotherapy developed by Inovio for the treatment of recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP). RRP is a rare, debilitating disease of the respiratory tract caused primarily by human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6 and 11, which produces recurrent wart-like growths (papillomas) in the airway. The therapy consists of a synthetic DNA plasmid (pGX3024) encoding a fusion protein of the E6 and E7 proteins from HPV-6 and HPV-11, separated by furin-P2A cleavage sites. Administered intramuscularly followed by electroporation using Inovio's proprietary CELLECTRA delivery device, doruxapapogene ralaplasmid is designed to elicit antigen-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell responses that target and destroy HPV-infected cells, thereby preventing or slowing the formation of new papillomas and reducing the need for repeated surgical interventions.
