Dorzol

Dorzol is an ophthalmic solution containing dorzolamide, a small molecule carbonic anhydrase inhibitor. Developed by Jadran Galenski laboratorij d.d. (JGL), it is indicated for the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The drug works by inhibiting the carbonic anhydrase II enzyme in the ciliary processes of the eye, which leads to a reduction in aqueous humor secretion and a subsequent decrease in intraocular pressure. Dorzol was developed as a generic alternative to the reference brand Trusopt and has been evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials to demonstrate therapeutic equivalence in efficacy and safety.
