Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dotoux Plus is a multi-ingredient oral medication developed and manufactured by Domesco Medical Import Export Joint Stock Corporation, a leading pharmaceutical company in Vietnam. It is formulated as a combination of three active small molecule ingredients: paracetamol (acetaminophen), phenylephrine hydrochloride, and chlorpheniramine maleate. Paracetamol serves as an analgesic and antipyretic by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Phenylephrine acts as a sympathomimetic decongestant by stimulating alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, leading to vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa and reducing congestion. Chlorpheniramine is a first-generation antihistamine that competitively blocks H1 receptors, alleviating symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and rhinorrhea. This combination is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of pain, fever, and nasal congestion associated with the common cold, influenza, and allergic rhinitis.
