Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Doublebase Dayleve gel is a long-lasting, highly moisturising and protective hydrating emollient gel formulated for the treatment and prevention of dry or chapped skin conditions, which may also be itchy, red, sore, or inflamed. The product contains two active ingredients—15% w/w isopropyl myristate and 15% w/w liquid paraffin—which act as emollients by forming an occlusive barrier within the skin surface to reduce water loss through evaporation. This helps rehydrate and soften dry skin. The formulation also includes humectants (such as glycerol) and film-forming agents (such as povidone) to lock moisture into the skin while remaining relatively non-greasy despite its high oil content. It is suitable for all age groups including infants, children, adults, and the elderly. Doublebase Dayleve gel can be used alone or as an adjunct to other topical treatments for conditions like eczema or dermatitis[1][3][4][8][9].
