Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Doxiproct Plus is a topical antihemorrhoidal combination ointment containing calcium dobesilate, lidocaine hydrochloride, and dexamethasone acetate. It is used for the local treatment of internal and external hemorrhoids, anal pruritus, anal eczema, anitis, perianitis, cryptitis, papillitis, acute hemorrhoidal thrombosis, and anal fissures, as well as for pre- and postoperative management in hemorrhoidectomy. Calcium dobesilate acts as a vasoprotective agent that regulates capillary permeability and resistance while exerting antithrombotic activity. Lidocaine hydrochloride is an amide-type local anesthetic that provides rapid pain relief by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels. Dexamethasone acetate is a potent synthetic corticosteroid that reduces local inflammation, edema, and itching through glucocorticoid receptor activation.
